YES! You’re coming to Focus, Control, & Balance!

InnFerryStExteriorWe’re so happy you’re claiming one of the few complimentary tickets to “Focus, Control, and Balance: How to Get Out of Overwhelm, Take Charge, and Stay on Track,” our in-person event in Midtown Detroit!

Live Event Dates: May 2, 3, and 4, 2013

The Inn
We’ve reserved an entire house for us at the Inn on Ferry Street in the Historic District of revived Midtown Detroit. The Inn is a collection of restored Victorian homes that has been winning national preservation and accommodation awards since they restored it in 2000. The reduced room rate for the retreat is $139 plus tax per night.

All rooms have one queen bed and a roll away bed can be added for $25 per night if you want to double up. Call the Inn at 313-871-6000 and ask for the Marcia Hoeck room block to get the discounted $139 per night rate. Room rate includes wifi, breakfast, and shuttle to local restaurants and venues. Information about making your reservation will be sent after you reserve your spot.

The retreat will be Thursday, May 2 through Saturday May 4. You’ll want to fly in on Wednesday, May 1, because we’ll be starting early on Thursday morning. We’ll have sessions both days Thursday and Friday. We’ll have a partial day on Saturday the 4th, and you can either arrange to leave later that day or stay over to the next day. (We’ll be finished by 2:00 pm on Sat. so you can schedule a flight out at 5 pm or later on Saturday.)

You can fly into the Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), which is a large international airport. Taxi to the hotel runs $35 to 65, or you can arrange to get a private car through the Inn for $55. As people register and let us know their arrival times, it may be possible to share a ride from the airport with another participant.

Breakfast is included with your room, and includes eggs, waffles, fruits, yogurt, cold and hot cereals, breads and muffins, juices, and coffee and tea. We’ll be going out to dinner as a group at least one night, maybe more often. Detroit has a wonderful GreekTown, and we’d like to take everyone there. There are other restaurant options as well, and we can go by the free shuttle. We can have our lunches brought in by local restaurants or caterers.

While your retreat ticket is complimentary, you’ll be responsible for travel, hotel, and meals.

The retreat

We’re calling the retreat “Focus, Control, and Balance: How to Get Out of Overwhelm, Take Charge, and Stay on Track,” We’ll be a small, intimate group, 20 people maximum. It will be a hands-on event, where we’ll be working through exercises and making progress on our individual challenges right there and then. We’ll be brainstorming and masterminding, and we expect lots of ahas and mindset shifts. As we get closer to the event, we’ll update you with the exact schedule. Rest assured, it will be geared specifically for entrepreneurs with ADHD brains.

You’ll be learning around our 4-Step ADHD Business Process:

Step 1: Get Started Right. This step is about the importance of laying the groundwork for working with your ADHD. You can’t build a strong business on a weak foundation.

Step 2: Work with Your ADHD, Not Against It. ADHD is different for everyone, so this step will help you get to know your own unique ADHD and how to work with it instead of struggling against it.

Step 3: Have the Right Tools for the Job. This step is about having the right tools to be able to work through whatever comes at you in business when you have ADHD, so you can work through the challenges effectively.

Step 4: Be Prepared for Business Changes and Growth. Structure is important for any business owner, but especially for those with ADHD. Having structure lets you know in advance how you’re going to do things, and having repeatable methods and processes takes a lot of weight off of your shoulders and reduces anxiety. They give us a base, a framework to operate from.

Here are two things you should know:

  1. Your ticket will be complimentary, but you need to register in order to hold the seat. Registering consists of putting down a $97 “no show” deposit, which will be refunded to you at the event. (Of course, if you register and don’t come, the deposit will be forfeited.)
  2. You can bring a guest with you for $197! (This should be someone who would benefit from our trainings, so preferably a business owner with ADHD.)
